ClearBridge Energy MLP Fund Inc. (NYSE: CEM) and ClearBridge Energy MLP Opportunity Fund Inc. (NYSE: EMO) announced today a conference call to be held tomorrow, August 9, 2011 at 4:15 p.m. (Eastern Time). The Fund's portfolio managers, Chris Eades and Michael Clarfeld of ClearBridge Advisors, LLC ("ClearBridge"), will provide an update on recent weakness within the Energy MLP space in the wake of recent market volatility. The call will conclude with a question and answer session.
"Though painful to endure, the recent downdraft in Energy MLP stocks has little to do with Energy MLP market fundamentals. Current distributions remain secure," according to Mr. Eades. "Expectations for distribution growth over the balance of 2011 and into 2012 remain unchanged. Market dislocations often present investment opportunities. We view the recent weakness and any potential further weakness as an opportunity that we are well positioned to exploit."
