National Association of Free Clinics Launches Times Square Ad to Spread the Word About Getting Involved

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Association of Free Clinics (NAFC) has placed a digital advertisement in Times Square in an effort to spread the word about Free Clinics and how people can get involved.

The ad started running on August 15th and will continue through September 30th on the CBS "Super Screen," a 26' x 20' foot screen on 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Avenues in New York City.

"The NAFC is grateful to have this opportunity through Neutron Media Inc. and is always excited about and looking for new ways to promote Free Clinics and the amazing work they do everyday to help the uninsured," said Nicole Lamoureux, NAFC Executive Director. "The Times Square ad is a great opportunity to reach an audience of millions that might not otherwise know about Free Clinics or the many volunteer opportunities that exist throughout the country."

The NAFC is the only nonprofit organization whose mission is solely focused on the issues and needs of the more than 1,200 free clinics and the people they serve in the United States. Free Clinics are volunteer-based, safety-net health care organizations that provide a range of medical, dental, pharmacy, and/or behavioral health services to economically disadvantaged individuals who are predominately uninsured.

The NAFC tried to embody what Free Clinics are in the 15-second ad, stating that: "Free Clinics are hope for the uninsured, neighbors helping neighbors and volunteerism at its best." It shares the NAFC website (www.freeclinics.us) and encourages people to volunteer, donate and get involved.

The ad can also be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5tXQEnxnWc.
