Brussels, 17 August 2011 - Starting today, Mobistar prepaid customers too can opt for a BlackBerry® offer. It's an option that prepaid customers can activate on their Tempo tariff plan with a code or an SMS. The option costs 7 euros per month for a volume of 100 MB and is valid for one month. The new option offers Mobistar prepaid customers the benefits of accessing a number of BlackBerry® services, such as BlackBerry® Messenger (BBM), a blackberry.mobistar.be mail address, BlackBerry App World(TM), but they can also access the mobile internet and the social networks Facebook®, Netlog and Twitter®.
After the BlackBerryÃ' Enterprise Edition and the BlackBerryÃ' Internet Edition for business, Mobistar is now also launching a BlackBerryÃ'solution for its prepaid customers. More and more residential customers today are buying smartphones and using e-mail and surfing services via Mobistar's mobile data network. With this BlackBerry® offer, Mobistar prepaid customers can access anytime, anywhere the e-mail and chat services of BlackBerry®, surf the mobile internet and access the BlackBerry App World(TM), with more than 35,000 mobile applications specially developed for BlackBerry smartphones. The showpiece of the prepaid option is BlackBerryÃ' Messenger, one of the world's largest mobile social networks with over 45 million users. The Mobistar customers can chat unlimited with all their BlackBerryÃ' friends, even when abroad and with non-Mobistar BlackBerryÃ' users as well.
All Tempo customers can activate the BlackBerry® option by sending 'BB' to 8079 or via the code #123# (chose 2 "reload options", then 4 "mobile internet options" and 4 "BlackBerry prepaid edition). The option is valid for 31 days and the service is discontinued if not reloaded. The customer receives a notification when the 100MB has been used or the validity period of 31 days has expired. Customers then can reload for another 100 MB or a period of 31 days and will be charged 7 euros. The first activation before 31 January 2012 is free of charge.
The launch of this service reaffirms Mobistar's ambition to further facilitate the mobile data access to all their customers.
