HOUSTON, Aug. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Goodrich Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: GDP) today acknowledged that it has received fact-finding subpoenas from the Attorney General of the State of New York and the Securities and Exchange Commission requesting information relating to its Haynesville Shale gas wells and reserves. Goodrich believes that these subpoenas are the result of a series of recent articles on shale gas appearing in the New York Times. There has been no allegation of wrong-doing by either the New York State Attorney General or the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Company is cooperating fully in its response to these requests.
The Company is confident that its disclosures relating to its Haynesville Shale wells and reserves meet all applicable legal requirements. All of Goodrich's annual proved reserve estimates have been prepared in accordance with all applicable SEC regulations by an independent petroleum engineering firm.
