The DAISY Foundation and UnitedHealthcare presented The DAISY Faculty Award to Dr. Elaine Rutkowski, Ph.D., a member of CSUF's nursing faculty at a ceremony, today in Fullerton. The special ceremony honored Dr. Elaine Rutkowski (of Laguna Niguel, Calif.), a member of CSUF's nursing faculty, for her commitment to the profession and inspirational influence on nursing students.
The not-for-profit DAISY Foundation is based in Glen Ellen, Calif., and was established in 2000 by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. The DAISY Foundation supports the nursing profession with recognition programs for bedside nurses and nursing faculty, and with grants for research and evidence-based practice projects conducted by nurses. As of August 2011, there are 50 colleges/schools of nursing committed to honoring their faculty with The DAISY Faculty Award.
