Profile America - Sunday, August 21st. All across the country, many families are squeezing in a last few days of vacation before school starts again. These last summer flings will take people to the mountains or wherever there's water, and to the country's network of national parks and recreation areas. Many trips will be for sight-seeing, while others are aimed at fishing, camping or hiking. The number of domestic trips is predicted to top $2 billion this year - that's over six trips for every person in the U.S. A trip is considered to be one person traveling one way more than 50 miles from home and staying at least one night away from home.
