Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance Celebrates Eighth Year

WESTPORT, Conn., Sept. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fairfield County Concours marked its eighth year on September 17 and 18, 2011, drawing 8,000 enthusiasts to view more than 215 automobiles and motorcycles in Westport, Conn.

Ralph and Adeline Marano, Sr.'s 1929 Stutz M-8 captured the Grand Prix d'Honneur award for a domestic vehicle, and Mr. & Mrs.Frank Ricciardelli's1926 Hispano-Suiza H6B clinched the Grand Prix d'Honneur award for a foreign vehicle.

Also on view were Formula One racecars, Chrysler Hemi-powered vehicles, CCCA Grand Classic 100 Point Winners, Porsche, Jaguar E-type, Woodies, Barn Finds, and Preservation Vehicles. An E-type search brought the lowest serial number, 006, a 1961 Roadster owned by James Strickland, and the longest single-owned E-type, a 1963 Coupe owned by Avron Coleman.

The Hagerty Youth Judges, sponsored by Hagerty Collector Car Insurance, presented their first-place award to a 1965 Sunbeam Tiger owned by James Lindner.

Barn Find winners were a 1952 Cunningham C-3 Coupe and a 1917 Harley-Davidson Model J.

"Sharing the Passion" awards were presented to McKeel Hagerty and Peter Egan to recognize their commitment to furthering the field of collecting and preserving significant automobiles and motorcycles.

The Fairfield County Concours partnered with Bonhams for auctions of memorabilia and vehicles.

The Club Celebration was attended by Audi, Ferrari, Jaguar, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche clubs with seminars by Kent Bain/Automotive Restorations, Tim McNair, and Rob Sass and Dave Kinney/Hagerty Insurance with collectors Ralph Marano, Sr. and David Kane.
