Anthropologie Selects DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative as Charity Recipient

WASHINGTON, Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Anthropologie chose the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative to be their Washington, D.C., charity beneficiary with partial proceeds from their recent Penn Quarter store opening supporting the DC Collaborative mission to provide access to high-quality arts and humanities experiences for all D.C. students.

Theirs is an organization that understands how central the arts and humanities are to a high-quality education as well as the joy that the arts bring to life," said Louise Kennelly, Executive Director of the DC Collaborative.

Anthropologie supports arts education and aspiring artistsnot only through their charity and outreach, but through their blog series titledThe Anthropologist. There are currently 11 artists featured on their page, showcasing their artworkand personal stories. The DC Collaborative Board of Directors was represented at the event by Gail Murdock from Peabody Elementary School, who is also an accomplished jewelry designer; Gina Sacripanti from The Washington Examiner; and Jade Floyd of Chlopak, Leonard, Schecter & Associates.
