WASHINGTON, Oct. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A major Egyptian American community conference entitled "Egypt the Revolution Conference -The Road to Democracy and Economic Development" will be held October 21 through October 23, 2011 in Washington D. C. at the Crystal Gateway Marriot in Arlington, Virginia.
The three day conference, hosted by the Egyptian American community, will bring together Egyptian and American leaders to discuss the political and economic situation in Egypt following the revolution. Discussions will focus on the role of Egyptian Americans and youth activists in forming a peaceful and democratic Egypt.Other sessions will discuss the revolution's impact on the United States and Middle Eastern policies, voting rights for Egyptians abroad, social justice, and how to ensure a democratic Egyptian constitution. Awards will be distributed to distinguished guests for their selfless dedication to the Egyptian Revolution.
Notable panel speakers include James Zogby, Michelle Dunne, Marc Lynch, Asmaa Mahfouz, Dr. Samia Harris, and Nobel Peace Prize nominees Waleed Rashed, Ahmed Maher, and Estraa Abdel Fatah. Prominent Egyptian politicians Dr. Elsayed Elbadawi, Medhat Khafagy, Bouthania Kamel, and Maher Hashem will participate in a town hall discussion on presidential expectations. Known commentator Mohamed Elsetouhi will be among many of the moderators hosting the panel discussions. Congressman Jim Moran will deliver Friday night's keynote address.
Entertainment by famous Egyptian singers and musicians will be provided to registered guests. A GREAT GALA led by famous singer Shereen Abdel Wahab will take place Saturday evening from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
