Through a new social media campaign, Sunbelt fans have the opportunity to "Ka-PINK" their Facebook profile photos by putting their faces onto one of three pink-themed superhero bodies. For every Facebook fan who Ka-PINKs their photo, Sunbelt will also donate $1 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
"We see this as a great way to raise awareness of breast cancer and support the fight against the disease," said Jeff Badger, brand manager for Sunbelt. "We hope our thousands of Facebook fans Ka-PINK themselves, just like I have."
It's easy to Ka-PINK too. Simply go to the Sunbelt Snacks Facebook page (facebook.com/SunbeltSnacks), "Like" the page, and click on the Ka-PINK promotion tab. Choose one of three pink-clad superhero personas and upload a photo or choose from one from your Facebook photo albums. With a click you are officially Ka-PINKed, and the NBCF gets a donation from Sunbelt. Ka-PINKed images can be shared on Facebook or used as a Facebook profile image.
This is Sunbelt's second year to support the NBCF. Last year the company contributed $1 for every new fan on Facebook during October, and more than 21,000 new fans liked the Sunbelt page during the campaign.
In addition to Ka-PINKing, Sunbelt is also offering special product packaging designed with pink ribbons to retailers across the country. For every box purchased, Sunbelt will donate a portion of the proceeds to the NBCF, up to $50,000.
NBCF Senior VP of Development Brent Hail said that creative promotions like Sunbelt's Ka-PINK campaign help bring new enthusiasm to the fight against breast cancer.
"Facebook is such a part of our lives," said Hail. "We go there to share information and to have fun. Sunbelt's Ka-PINK campaign encourages people to do both, and our foundation is the beneficiary. I've Ka-PINKed myself, have you?"
The NBCF provides funding nationwide for breast cancer education and mammograms for those who cannot afford them.
