NEW YORK, Oct. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- D3 LED, LLC (D3), the world's leader in specialized LED digital display solutions, completed two international projects this month in Australia for its client, DRM Audio Visual, a premier Audio Visual Systems Integrator based in Melbourne, Australia. D3 collaborated with DRM to design and manufacture state-of-the-art digital displays for public space development projects at Perth Cultural Centre in Perth, Western Australia and The Concourse in Sydney, Australia.
At Perth Cultural Centre, one of the largest, most commercially important and strategically located inner-city precincts in Western Australia, D3 and DRM built a 15 ft. high by 26 ft. wide LED screen using 350 12mm SMD LED modules to create a digital screen with 236,000 pixels. The LED display was installed at the James Street mall amphitheatre, and will provide the opportunity for the resident cultural institutions and other arts organizations to share content, experiences, ideas and innovations with the general public.
"We are thrilled to be part of the global urban screen movement with DRM Audio Visual," said Jason Barak, managing partner, D3. "As we have been at the forefront of large scale commercial spectaculars, D3 is also a pioneer in the emerging market of large format public use LED displays; we take pride in serving two distinct markets equally with our visionary technology. Going forward, we will aggressively expand our presence within the urban screen market."
The two companies also collaborated on building a 16 ft. high by 30 ft. wide LED display at The Concourse, one of Sydney's leading public entertainment venues. The new display, which was created using 312 10mm TE LED modules, will be utilized for free entertainment content including digital art, open air cinema, live sporting events, news, national events and live broadcasts of sold out performances.
"D3's outstanding technical support has provided us with the edge over our competitors and assisted in the delivery of these projects on time and on budget," said Brad Hogan, managing director, DRM Audio Visual "The state-of-the-art Surface Mount LED screen at Perth has quickly become the standard by which all other LED screens in the State are now compared against, and the D3 commitment to long-term support is a testament to their commitment to the client."
