IPL to Showcase the Business Value of Information Management and Business Intelligence at DW&BI Conference

BATH, England, November 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --

IPL, an IT services company specialising in Business Intelligence (BI) and Information Management (IM), will be attending the Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence (DW&BI) Conference in November. The conference will be held at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel, in London from 7th until 9th November 2011.

The 2011 conference will focus on trends, design guidelines, product overviews and comparisons, best practices and new evolving technologies. The conference, which will be attended by in excess of 200 delegates interested in data warehousing, BI, information quality, data modelling and data management, includes presentations from a number of keynote speakers from all areas of the data warehousing and relevant technology industries.

Chris Bradley, Business Consulting Director at IPL, will be taking part in two presentations at the DW&BI Conference, the first will be a case reference presentation on Cambridge University Press, entitled 'Assessing and Improving Information Management (IM) Effectiveness.' Illustrated by the experiences of Cambridge University Press, Bradley will highlight the ten key IM principles, the five key components for developing successful IM principles and how to build a transition plan. The session therefore aims to help attendees to assess the current IM capability of their own organisations and highlight the steps necessary to achieve their IM maturity goals.

Bradley will also be hosting a DW&BI presentation entitled 'Too good to be true? The Truth about Open Source BI?' This session will explore the abundance of BI tools, which together with greater regulation and compliance requirements, have created new challenges for today's enterprise BI solutions. Bradley will also consider the role that Open Source can play within a BI solution.

Bradley who recently co-authored the book "Data Modeling for the Business: A Handbook for Aligning the Business with IT Using High-Level Data Models" also comments, "We are delighted to be participating in the 2011 DW&BI conference. The conference will provide us with the ideal opportunity to engage with other members of the industry and discuss the issues of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. It will also enable us to demonstrate IPL's established Information Management thought leadership within the sector. We will share with delegates the tangible benefits that Cambridge University Press has enjoyed since working with IPL."

Bradley concludes: "The DW&BI Conference will enable us to experience and share new ideas and concepts that are continually shaping the industry, and of course gain up to the minute information as to the needs and requirements of various sectors. I am certain that we will be exposed to a wealth of opportunities to discuss issues affecting the industry and its professionals and to expand our knowledge of the sector further."

IPL will be speaking at the following times:

Assessing and improving information management effectiveness: A case study from Cambridge University Press - 8th November, 10:40 - 11:40

Too Good to be True? The Truth about Open Source Business Intelligence - DW&BI Conference, 8th November, 11:45 - 12:45
