World's Finest Spirits to be Showcased During Regional Festivals in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia

HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Featuring more than 200 of the world's finest spirits, the 2011 fine spirits festivals in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia will offer something for everyone from the novice to the connoisseur.

Each festival provides a one-of-a-kind tasting event for visitors, along with an opportunity to meet the distillers who are the masters behind the products.

"We are happy to be part of these events again this year and are pleased to continue supporting the efforts of organizations like Safe Home Philadelphia and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, which do so much for so many Pennsylvanians in need," said Liquor Control Board Chairman Joseph E. Brion.

More than 200 varieties of scotch, bourbon, whiskey, gin and vodka will be available for guests to taste at each festival, with many products on hand for purchase at the PA Wine & Spirits on-site store. Food will be served at both festivals, so attendees may enjoy responsibly. You must be at least 21 years old to attend.

The eighth annual Philadelphia Whiskey Festival will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 6:30-9 p.m., at The Crystal Tea Room in the Wanamaker Building, 100 Penn Square East, Philadelphia.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Safe Home Philadelphia, an initiative of the Philadelphia Committee to End Homelessness. Tickets are $85 in advance, $95 at the door. For more information, visit www.phillymag.com/whiskeyfest.

The fifth annual Whiskey and Fine Spirits Festival will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, in Heinz Field's East Club Lounge, Pittsburgh. The first one hundred guests coming into the festival will have the opportunity to draw an envelope which may contain a golden ticket granting them access to the Louis XIII V.I.P. Lounge, where 20 guests will get to taste this distinguished cognac.

Tickets for the event are $100, with proceeds benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. For more information, visit www.pittsburghwhiskeyfestival.com or phone (412) 281-2681.
