LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/30/11 -- L.A. singer/songwriter Pat Campo has been named as one of Music Connection's Hot 100 Unsigned Artists of 2011. The highly anticipated December issue spotlights indie artists and bands that have exploded onto the scene in the past twelve months with their music and live performances. The issue will hit newsstands this week.
Campo has recently been getting media attention with his stand-out music video for "JTITM (Just Text It To Me)." The self-directed clip features clever images of "modern communications" between friends splashed across three cleverly arranged, constantly shifting iPhones. Campo shot the video using the HD video feature of a simple Canon 550D camera. Since the video's upload, it has received more than 18,500 views YouTube. The idea behind "JTITM," the title track from Campo's latest EP, came after the singer was diagnosed with vertigo in 2007. He appreciated the many well-wishing relatives and friends, but found it much easier to "talk" via text than phone. While "JTITM" and "Leggo My Ego" (from his debut album) show his proficiency with witty turns of phrase, Campo also shows a more heartfelt, introspective side of his songwriting -- not to mention his edgier alt rock sensibilities -- on the EP's other tracks.
Campo has been fast on the promotional track, in support of his five-track EP, being featured on KJAG 95.5 FM in Salinas, Kansas, Independent Clauses, The Expressionist, Peter's Power Pop Blog, Nerdy Frames music blog and Penseyeview. Next, the singer will perform an acoustic set at Genghis Cohen in Los Angeles, Calif. on December 8. In addition, Campo will appear on Big Blend Radio's Rants, Raves & Rock Show on December 9.
