BALTIMORE, Dec. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today Rebuilding Together Baltimore, an affiliate of Rebuilding Together, is partnering with national sponsor Shell to promote energy efficiency in the home by delivering critical home renovations for local homeowner, Ms. Johnson.
Rebuilding Together Baltimore will work with 25 volunteers to complete renovations, focusing on energy efficient upgrades and critical safety repairs on the home of Ms. Johnson, which will help make her home warmer, safer and drier. Volunteers will install weather stripping, energy efficient light bulbs, and numerous other energy saving measures in Ms. Johnson's home. Additionally, repairs will be made to safety hazards that exist throughout the home. The grant from Shell is also making it possible for Rebuilding Together Baltimore to repair Ms. Johnson's roof and to connect her with a program that will replace her furnace. Ms. Johnson has been living in her home without a consistent heat source for two years.
Rebuilding Together works to increase the health, safety, and quality of life for homeowners providing green home rehabilitation to homeowners and families in-need. These repairs allow homeowners to save money on utility bills, thrive in cleaner environments and easily meet other essential needs.

Volunteers will be joined by Baltimore City Councilman Bill Henry (4th District), whose office originally referred Ms. Johnson for assistance with home repairs.
Shell has been a sponsor of Rebuilding Together since 2009 and recently sponsored Rebuilding Together's National Conference in New Orleans.
