The Washington Business Hall of Fame Dinner, founded in 1988 by Junior Achievement, the Greater Washington Board of Trade, and The Washingtonian, with presenting sponsorship from Capital One, is an inspiring recognition of the achievement and leadership of the honorees and raising important resources for Junior Achievement.

This program brings together over 1,100 of the area's top executives, educators and community leaders for an evening once called the "Academy Awards of business" by the Washington Post. Junior Achievement President and founding partner of the event, Ed Grenier, explained, "This event has grown to represent the spirit of the Washington DC business community. It's a great opportunity to celebrate the influence of the honorees on the business and philanthropic landscape of our region."

Gloria Bohan is one of five outstanding business leaders inducted as 2011 Laureates.

  • Gloria Bohan, President and CEO, Omega World Travel
  • Alan Meltzer, Founder and CEO, The Meltzer Group
  • Joseph E. Robert, Jr., Founder and Executive Chairman, JER Partners
  • Robert J. Stevens, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Lockheed Martin
  • Warren M. Thompson, Founder and President, Thompson Hospitality

These executives join an impressive group of influential business and civic leaders, dedicated to the increase of financial literacy among the youth of Greater Washington. They serve to provide guidance and support to the mission of JA in this market and to helping the next generation become financially fit for life.

2011 Laureate Bohan grew her business from a one person office in 1972 to a global company with sales in excess of $1 billion, more than 600 employees and offices worldwide.
