Omnicom Agencies Score Big at Campaign Asia Pacific Agency of Year Awards

SINGAPORE, Dec. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Omnicom Group (NYSE: OMC) agencies BBDO, DDB, Interbrand, Mudra, OMD, PHD, and TBWA were in the spotlight at this year's Campaign Asia Pacific Agency of the Year Awards held in Singapore.

Exceptional performance by the agencies and their management across all categories in both subregional and regional geographies resulted in Omnicom Group being awarded Holding Company of the Year for the second consecutive year.

At the regional level, Chris Thomas, Chairman and CEO of BBDO Asia, was named Agency Head of the Year, while Andy Wilson, Head of Planning of BBDO Proximity Singapore, won the Asia-Pacific Account Person of the Year accolade.

Runner-up positions were awarded to OMD for Media Agency Network of the Year, DDB Group Asia Pacific for Creative Agency Network of the Year, Tribal DDB Asia Pacific for Digital Agency Network of the Year, and DDB's John Zeigler for Regional Agency Head of the Year.

In the subregional category for Australia and New Zealand, DDB Group New Zealand picked up Creative Agency of the Year. Toby Talbot won Creative of the Year while Brent Annells, Managing Partner of DDB Sydney was awarded Account Person of the Year.

Clemenger Proximity Melbourne won Digital Agency of the Year, and Interbrand Sydney received the Specialist Agency of the Year accolade. The Media Planner/Buyer of the Year award was handed to Chris Stephenson from PHD Australia and Guy Cousins of Spark PHD.

In Greater China, Arlene Ang, newly promoted CEO Digital at OMG China, was named Account Person of the Year.

In North Asia, TBWA\Hakuhodo Japan was named Creative Agency of the Year for the second consecutive year, while Ichiro Zama, President and CEO of TBWA\Hakuhodo Japan, was awarded Agency Head of the Year.

In India and the Subcontinent, the Agency Head of the Year accolade was awarded to Madhukar Kamath, Group CEO and Managing Director of Mudra Communications, while Creative of the Year went to Bobby Pawar, also of Mudra Communications. Specialist Agency of the Year was awarded to Mudra Max Mumbai.

In Southeast Asia, DDB Group Singapore emerged as the big winner of the night with a total of four awards. Agency Head of the Year went to David Tang, President and CEO of DDB Group Singapore, while Joji Jacob, Group Executive Creative Director of DDB Group Singapore, won Creative of the Year. DDB Group Singapore was named Creative Agency of the Year and Tribal DDB Singapore was awarded Digital Agency of the Year.

Joe Braithwaite, Regional Account Director of BBDO Singapore, received the Account Person of the Year award and Jinnarat Sampuntharat, Media Director of OMD Thailand, was named Media Planner/Buyer of the Year.

Oliver Chong, Marketing Manager of StarHub, a DDB Group Singapore client, was named Client Marketer of the Year.
