Stonesoft Firewall/VPN solution passes rigorous testing
to meet IETF's IPsec VPN standards
Helsinki, Finland - December 23, 2011 - Network security provider Stonesoft today announced that its Firewall/VPN 5.3 solution has passed the VPN Consortium's (VPNC) Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) testing criteria. This certifies that the most recent version of Stonesoft's Firewall/VPN meets the interoperability requirements for supporting the IPsec VPN standards set forth by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).
Certified IPsec VPN interoperability with rapidly growing IPv6 networking infrastructure proves standards compliancy of Stonesoft Firewall/VPN solution also for this area. As the world's leading trade association for VPN developers and manufacturers, the VPNC conducts rigorous testing of the IETF's IPsec VPN standards to certify the highest levels of interoperability and performance for today's high-performing VPN devices.
Stonesoft's ability to support IPv6 means that its solutions are highly interoperable out of the box, and meets many of the specifications from public and private organizations, which require support of the IPv6 standard. This certification is another way that Stonesoft is able to reduce complexity across today's complex network infrastructures.

The IKEv2 standard for VPN authentication and key exchange was developed to promote interoperability and performance in the areas of security, throughput, ease of use and remote user access.
