New Line of All-Natural Baby Food Eligible for Texas WIC Program
Nurture Inc. today announced the launch of HAPPYNATURALS, a new line of 100-percent natural baby food designed specifically for families in Texas' Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program. The products are based on the principles set forth by the Environmental Working Group's Clean 15 and Dirty Dozen list in order to reduce pesticide exposure and provide an affordable option while still meeting the guidelines of the WIC program.
"More than half of the babies born in Texas qualify for and participate in the state's WIC program. For many parents, this is the only way to provide their babies with food," said Shazi Visram, founder of Nurture Inc. "In developing HAPPYNATURALS, we used all the resources available to us, while working within the limitations set forth by the government, to offer the healthiest possible food options to parents who would otherwise have to compromise."
Available in a variety of nutritious combinations featuring fruits, vegetables, pastas and meats, HAPPYNATURALS products are made with the best natural ingredients. Whenever possible, the line contains ingredients fresh from farms within a 150-mile radius of where HAPPYNATURALS are made, and the products never include drum-dried powders.
"At Nurture Inc., we believe every baby deserves to be happy and healthy, which to us means having access to foods that have low to no pesticide residue," said Visram. "We are a mom-owned company, and our mission is to provide all children with the essential nutrients they need to grow up strong, healthy and happy, which is why we have created HAPPYNATURALS."
The new HAPPYNATURALS products will be available at H-E-B stores in January 2012 in 26 different flavors for babies. HAPPYNATURALS products have a suggested retail price of $0.50 per jar. All of Nurture Inc.'s proceeds from the HAPPYNATURALS line will be donated to The FEED Foundation to help feed America's children in need.
