Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc. will showcase its line of concrete additive products at World of Concrete, Jan. 24-27 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company's HexiCrete™ branded products are specifically developed to improve concrete performance, contractor productivity and environmental suitability.
Momentive's HexiCrete curing compounds, penetrating sealer, pervious concrete additive and roller compacted concrete additive are tested and qualified in accordance with the most recent standards.
Products featured at World of Concrete will include:
- HexiCrete Type I-D and Type II curing compounds are non-detectable VOC, ASTM C 309-certified concrete sealers that form a membrane to control water evaporation from freshly poured concrete, thereby helping to avoid cracking. These compounds are tinted to ensure even application. HexiCrete curing compounds are extremely easy to apply. When used properly, they ensure a more consistent, stronger cure for improved strength, durability and water retention of placed concrete.
- With its HexiCrete PS 259D penetrating sealer, Momentive takes saline control to the next level. HexiCrete PS 259D works by penetrating the concrete surface and activating a unique chemical mechanism that increases pore-system connectivity. This results in excellent performance and more cost-effective application when compared to other products.
- HexiCrete pervious concrete (PC) 350 is a proprietary admixture that allows contractors to place pervious mix and walk away, without worrying about plastic covering. When combined with HexiCrete Type II curing compound, HexiCrete PC 350 cures quickly, eliminating the need for plastic/burlap/visquine and saving on time, labor and the hassles of redos and repairs associated with covering blowing off. HexiCrete PC 350's unique properties also enhance the bond between the cement paste and aggregate, increasing compressive strength while optimizing the void structure for quick drainage.
- HexiCrete roller compacted concrete (RCC) 450 is a proprietary admixture that improves workability and strength, while reducing variability, in RCC mix designs. The key to HexiCrete RCC 450's value is its unique lubricity, which allows for a higher density mix with less cement without adversely affecting compactive strength. HexiCrete RCC 450 mixes are more flexible and deliver compaction with fewer roller passes.
