Walker was one of the top running backs in the pros who gained more yards than anyone in professional football history counting his seasons in both the NFL and USFL, finishing his professional career with a total of 8,225 yards and 61 rushing touchdowns. He also caught 512 passes for 4,859 yards and 21 scores. "I've never met a more versatile athlete," said Pastor Shook. "Walker has excelled in so many different arenas from football to ballet, including Olympic bobsledding and Mixed Martial Arts. His story is one of extraordinary courage, facing unbelievable obstacles personally and finding strength in God's power to overcome each one."
In his new series, Extraordinary, Pastor Kerry is using his mega-church pulpit each weekend to interview a number of professional athletes about the connection between sports and faith. These athletes include World Series slugger Lance Berkman, former Dallas Cowboy and Heisman Trophy winner, Herschel Walker, current Heisman winner, Robert Griffin III, as well as Matt Bullard, former NBA Champion of the Houston Rockets.
