SYDNEY, Feb. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Freelancer.com, the world's largest outsourcing and crowdsourcing marketplace today, unveiled its new, state-of-the-art headquarters at Jones Bay Wharf, Sydney.
Chief Executive Matt Barrie, in Singapore concluding the launch of country sites in India Freelancer.in and Singapore Freelancer.sg, said, "We're serious about trying to be Australia's first big Consumer Internet company. The only way we can achieve that is to build on the momentum we've generated and to continue to recruit the best engineers, developers, and designers."
At 484 square metres, Freelancer.com's new facility is nearly three times the size of its previous headquarters at King Street Wharf, and is situated at a prime waterfront location overlooking Sydney Harbour.
"Our 2011 growth outpaced all expectations. The reason for that is three-fold: the overwhelming spike in small and medium business owners discovering the value of using Freelancer.com, over 3 million hardworking Freelancers who make it all possible, and the team we have running the site.
"The new headquarters are an investment, as are the staff we'll be recruiting to make Freelancer.com realize its potential. This is just the beginning," Barrie concluded.
Webby award winning Freelancer.com is the largest outsourcing and crowdsourcing marketplace in the world. Through Freelancer.com, businesses connect with over 3 million independent professionals from all over the world. Employers can hire freelancers in areas such as software, writing, data entry and design, right through to engineering and the sciences, sales & marketing and accounting & legal services. The average job is under US$200, making Freelancer.com extremely cost effective for small businesses, which often need a wide variety of jobs to be done, but cannot justify the expense of hiring full time.
