PA Liquor Control Board Invites Guests to Explore "Hawaii: Islands of Aloha" During the 2012 Philadelphia International Flower Show

HARRISBURG, Pa., March 4, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board today invited Pennsylvanians to be their guest and marvel in the beauty of "Hawaii: Islands of Aloha" during the 2012 Philadelphia International Flower Show from March 4 to 11 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia.

"We are so pleased to again be part of this wonderful event, which has become a cornerstone of spring time in Philadelphia," comments Liquor Control Board Chairman Joseph E. Brion. "This year's show continues with some of the same activities and exhibits our guests have grown to love, but offers many new and exciting things, highlighting the beauty and wonder of the islands of Hawaii."

Daily tastings, of more than 100 wines and spirits from around the world will be available to guests 21 and over from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays. Guests will receive a "passport" that they can fill with product pages collected from the various wine and spirits tables they visit during the show.

For added convenience, the Hawaiian Village in the Grand Hall will offer an on-site PA Wine & Spirits store, open from noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays, making it easy to purchase any favorites from the tastings.

As a highlight to this year's show, fans of Bravo's Real Housewives TV shows will have a chance to meet reality star Melissa Gorga on Friday, March 9 and entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel on Saturday, March 10.

"Events like this one provide opportunities around every corner - for education, entertainment, quality time with family and friends and most importantly, the chance to give back to the community, through all of the worthwhile charities the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society supports," Brion continues. "We certainly hope the people of Pennsylvania enjoy attending this show as much as we enjoy being a part of it."

Proceeds from the show support the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and its many community outreach programs, including City Harvest and Plant One Million, a multi-state partnership to plant one million trees in the Greater Philadelphia Region.
