Broncos Cheerleaders Help MADD Colorado Kick Off Annual 5K Walk With Bowling Event

LAKEWOOD, Colo., March 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- MADD Colorado kicked off its annual Walk Like MADD® event during an afternoon of bowling to "STRIKE out drunk driving" with some very special guests... the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders! The cheerleaders were there to cheer on MADD supporters, volunteers, and community partners as they bowled to raise awareness and funds to keep Colorado communities safe. The kickoff bowling event was designed to give Walk teams the opportunity to sign up their walkers and raise funds - all while having fun as a team.

"We're thrilled with the turnout today to kick off our Walk Like MADD campaign," said Fran Lanzer, MADD Colorado's Walk Like MADD Coordinator. "Our community came together in a big way to show their support for MADD's mission, and the funds raised will be put to good use saving lives, serving people and making our roadways safer."

Walk Like MADD is a community-driven 5K walk where every dollar raised supports MADD's lifesaving programs and services. To register for the Denver Walk Like MADD event or make a donation, please visit www.walklikemadd.org/denver.

The 2012 Denver Walk Like MADD is presented locally by the Law Firm of Bachus & Schanker, MADD Colorado's Statewide Sponsor, and American Family Insurance.

"Our experience in personal injury law has shown us firsthand the devastating effects drunk driving has on victims and families," says Darin Schanker, founding partner at the law firm of Bachus & Schanker, LLC. "Through our contributions as a Walk Like MADD sponsor, we hope to support the invaluable programs and victim services provided by MADD."

"American Family Insurance is proud to be a Local Presenting Sponsor for the Colorado Walk Like MADD," says David Carter, Sales Director for American Family Insurance. "As an insurance company we've seen the devastating injuries and trauma to victims and their families as a result of drunk driving crashes. This sponsorship is our commitment to support MADD in its mission to make our roadways safer and eliminate drunk driving throughout Colorado."

The lane sponsors for the 2012 kickoff bowling event included Gary's Auto Service, the 9/11 Freedom Rally, the Law Firm of Bell & Pollock, the family and friends of Justin Conant, Team JC Hope for Denver, and Joe and Susan Hollon.

The Denver Walk Like MADD is also sponsored locally by the Law Firm of Bell & Pollock, King Soopers and KOSI 101.

Since its founding in 1980, MADD has helped save more than 300,000 lives - but thousands of people across the country continue to be killed and injured by this violent crime. On average, one in three people will be involved in a drunk driving crash in their lifetime. MADD Colorado provides no-cost support services to more than 2,000 victims and survivors each year.

Favoritenwechsel
