A short ceremony honored the Girl Scouts local past, paying homage to its early beginnings, April 14, 1932, in Boulder City, during the construction of the Hoover Dam. As the girls began their trek across the Hoover Dam, the crowd came to a fever pitch chanting "Rock the Dam! Rock the Dam!" An aerial photo was taken of the group courtesy of Papillon Helicopters and photographer Frank Carroll.
In addition to this spectacular event, the Bureau of Reclamation has also agreed to turn the lights of the Dam green for Girl Scout Week March 10 - 17. On Girl Scouts Anniversary, Monday, March 12, 7p.m., Girl Scouts will gather at the Hoover Dam once again for the reveal of the organization's logo on the Hoover Dam.
