VITEC shows live how Optibase Mobile Solution Suite integrates with Oceus Networks broadband "Network-in-a-Box" platform for adaptive bit rate mobile video streaming. Portable, highly-compact systems are shown to be optimal for rapid deployment of high quality, dynamic, mobile encoding/streaming for field applications.
VITEC, a worldwide leader in advanced digital video solutions, is showcasing the VITEC Optibase Mobile Solution Suite, highlighting the new MGTS-Prism Transcoder blade for the MGWx100 carrier grade platform. The solution is leveraging mobile networks provided by Oceus Networks, a leading provider of broadband solutions to government and industry because of Xiphos™, its first-to-market proven (4G) Long Term Evolution (LTE) family of fully interoperable solutions that enable secure high-speed, high-capacity, voice, video and data transmissions.
Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions are demanding in that they often require the support of commercial mobile devices. This must be done over a private mobile network due to security, sparseness of service in remote locations, high-traffic concerns, or compromised public infrastructure.
VITEC Mobile Streaming Solutions encodes and transcodes content to multiple streaming protocols including Apple HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), Adobe RTMP, Microsoft Smooth Streaming, 3GPP and more, with adaptive bit rates to optimize picture quality for every device and any bandwidth constraints.
"We are pleased to be showing compatibility with Oceus Networks' "Network in a Box" solutions as this is typical of our common customers' need to stream secure video at high speeds with high quality of service," said Eli Garten, vice president product management at VITEC. "Together, VITEC and Oceus are demonstrating encoding, streaming, and full interoperability with standards-based cellular clients."
"The VITEC Optibase Mobile Solution Suite aligned with Oceus' "Network in a Box" solutions is an impressive solution for Department of Defense, FEMA, and other segments of the US federal government that require live or on-demand video processing and distribution," said Cal Shintani, Chief Growth Officer at Oceus Networks. "The VITEC Optibase Mobile Solution Suite easily interfaces with our mobile cellular broadband networks by presenting high-quality, encoded transport streams to our 4G LTE network."
Together, the products create a deployable system that provides mission-critical adaptive mobile video distribution for battlefield situational awareness, emergency-response, and other extreme applications requiring full support of smart devices.
