VANCOUVER, April 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - Western Pacific Resources Corp. (TSXV: WRP) is very sad to report that Curt Everson, Exploration Manager and a Director of the Company since its inception, has passed away after fighting a valiant battle with cancer. Everyone at Western Pacific expresses their deepest condolences to his family.
Curt Everson had over thirty-five years of experience in the mineral exploration industry and his reputation, passion and dedication are well-known. He developed, coordinated and implemented successful exploration programs in the United States and South America that resulted in the discovery of millions of ounces of gold. Recently Mr. Everson was Vice President of Exploration for US Gold from 2007 to early 2008. Curt Everson was co-founder and President of Nevada Pacific Gold (U.S.) from 1997 to 2007 which was acquired by US Gold Corporation. Mr. Everson was an integral part of the exploration programs at Santa Fe Pacific Gold and Gold Fields Mining Corporation. In January of 2008 he co-founded Sirius Exploration, LLC and has been developing exploration projects throughout Nevada ever since.

It was Curt Everson that saw the potential at Mineral Gulch area and it was his vision that helped lead to the successful drilling program in 2011. Out of respect for Curt's contributions to Western Pacific Resources and to the greater geological community in general, we have renamed the promising unmined northern area of the property the "Everson Zone".
Western Pacific will carry on exploration at Mineral Gulch and look to move the Company forward. Curt Everson would accept nothing less.
