Datawatch Announces Integration of Monarch Report Analytics With QlikView

MIAMI BEACH, Fla., April 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Qonnections 2012 QlikTech Global Partner Summit - -Datawatch Corporation (NASDAQ-CM: DWCH), the leading global provider of report analytics products and services, today announced the immediate availability of the Monarch Report Analytics platform with direct connectivity to the QlikView Business Discovery platform. QlikView becomes the first business intelligence vendor to directly leverage the value of the colossal amounts of information that is trapped in static reports, PDF files, content management systems, ERP reports, mainframe print spools and other content-rich, but difficult-to-use diverse data sources. The combination of the QlikView and Monarch solutions enables organizations to access and retrieve information from a wide range of diverse and complex data types and formats for immediate analytics and sophisticated visualization.

"Datawatch's partnership with QlikTech is a key component of our ongoing initiative to help business intelligence customers derive more analytical insight from static reports, regardless of format," said Harvey Gross, CTO, Datawatch. "One of the most pervasive data challenges facing organizations today is incorporating less-structured data and data from outside their four walls into their decision-making process. Organizations are often faced with two choices to address this problem: turn to costly, customized reporting developed by IT resources, or manually enter static data into spreadsheets. With the integration of Datawatch's Monarch Report Analytics platform and QlikView, QlikTech is providing a way for its customers to leapfrog these out-dated methods and adopt an intuitive, but sophisticated approach to data discovery. At the same time, our 40,000 customers will be able to complement their Datawatch deployments with the best-in-class BI capabilities that QlikView provides.

"Additionally, this integration enables QlikTech implementation partners worldwide to extend the services they offer their customers. With the Monarch Report analytics platform, QlikTech partners can now help their customers quickly access a variety of complex data formats and couple the data with traditional business intelligence data without the costs, complexity or data quality issues that might result otherwise," continued Gross.

"Too many organizations find their data hostage to the enterprise applications that prevent them from getting to all of their relevant data in a simple and meaningful way," said Peter McQuade, vice president of Alliances and Partner Sales at QlikTech. "Business users across the globe use QlikView to gain quick answers by leveraging their investment in existing business and data warehousing assets. By adding Datawatch's capabilities to an organization's use of QlikView, users can gain the same quick answers from data trapped in non-traditional data sources, such as text reports, PDF files, invoices, statements, mainframe print files and semi-structured documents that are archived in content management systems."

According to research from a Ventana Research benchmark, only 11 percent of organizations are very satisfied with their efforts to assemble information from multiple sources and in multiple formats into applications for business. Datawatch provides capabilities to harvest data from reports generated in common formats, such as Adobe Acrobat and HTML, and from existing ERP, CRM and other legacy systems and make them sensible for business to make decision and improve business processes.
