Learning Care Group, Inc. Names Mark R. Bierley Chief Financial Officer

NOVI, Mich., May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Learning Care Group, Inc. announces today that Mark R. Bierley will join the organization as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective June 11, 2012. Learning Care Group is the second-largest for-profit early education and childcare provider in North America, operating more than 950 schools in 36 states, with the capacity to serve approximately 150,000 children.

As CFO, Bierley will be responsible for leading Learning Care Group in maintaining a solid financial foundation, enabling it to continue to provide educational excellence and outstanding childcare solutions that meet ever-evolving customer needs.

Bierley has more than 20 years of financial and accounting leadership experience. Most recently, he served as CFO and Senior Vice President of The Pantry Inc., the leading independently operated convenience store chain in the southeastern United States and one of the largest independently operated convenience store chains in the country.

Previously, Bierley served in a variety of managerial roles at Borders Inc., including Executive Vice President and Chief Operating and Financial Officer. Prior to working with Borders, he held positions in the financial departments for Dunham's Sporting Goods, Federal-Mogul Corporation and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Bierley holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He is a certified public accountant. He and his family reside in Plymouth, Mich.
