NoleSports.com Announces Exclusive Insights into Possible Championship Season in 3rd Annual FSU Football Preview Magazine, Now Available, with Presale Discounts at fsufootballpreview.com
As the FSU Seminoles football team prepares for what many experts believe could be a 2012 championship season, the most comprehensive and colorful preview of one of the nation's hottest teams hits newsstands this week. The third annual Florida State Football Preview magazine, produced by the award-winning team of the Tallahassee Democrat, makes history by featuring a pair of defensive standouts -- Bjoern Werner and Brandon Jenkins –- on the cover. It's the first time the publication has not had a quarterback for its cover photograph.
"In addition to being two of the top defensive ends in the country, these two players also have very compelling stories, that 'Noles fans will find most enjoyable and interesting," said Ira Schoffel, sports editor of the Tallahassee Democrat, who also served as the magazine's editor. The magazine is published by NoleSports.com, the newspaper's website for all things Florida State sports.
Jenkins would have been a high draft pick had he chosen to leave Florida State at the end of his junior year and Werner, a native of Germany who did not start playing football until he was high school age, are great symbols for the key to Florida State's return to national prominence.
The magazine is available at retailers and online beginning May 31. It is jam-packed with information in its 114 pages of full-color photographs, schedules, stats and information on FSU's opponents. Additional features include a look at "Mr. Excitement" — Greg Reid – and features on coaches, projected starters and emerging stars.
"There is the always-popular look at projected starters and top backups as well as stats on this year's opponents and FSU's top-ranked recruits," said Schoffel. "Readers will enjoy a look back at the history of the Seminoles' iconic helmet and a walk through game history, told through photos from the Tallahassee Democrat's archives and fans' recollections."
Articles were written by the Democrat's own star football coverage team, including Schoffel, Corey Clark, Jim Lamar, Jim Henry and Natalie Pierre-Maliqi. Photographs include many file shots from the Democrat's archives over the years.
Beginning May 31, in addition to online, the magazine will be for sale locally at the Tallahassee Democrat (8am-5pm, Monday through Friday), Garnet & Gold and more than 60 local retailers that are listed at fsufootballpreview.com.
Schoffel is available to do interviews about the magazine or to talk about the upcoming football season.
