MaxCDN's service boosts tech news website's search rankings and traffic growth with a five-fold increase in web performance
NetDNA LLC, the parent company of MaxCDN and a global tier-1 content delivery network provider (CDN), today announced a customer win on its network with The Next Web, one of the world's largest international technology, business and culture news websites.
The Next Web (TNW) serves a worldwide audience and averages more than six million monthly visits and 7.5 million page views monthly. With a steady growth in both metrics of 15 percent per month, the management team didn't want the growing amount of content to hinder the site's progress and performance.
As part of a complete infrastructure overhaul, which included a new content management system and a reverse proxy, TNW initially started to use the prepaid MaxCDN service, which over time, delivered a five-times performance increase, which was measured in faster page download times.
The Next Web picked MaxCDN because of its user-friendly web-based sign up system, low bandwidth costs and comprehensive web performance optimization.
The Next Web serves a global audience, of which 40 percent of the publication's traffic comes from outside the U.S., so relying on MaxCDN's network of web servers at points of presence across the country has resulted in a faster and more efficient way for customers to get their tech news.
"The MaxCDN service has helped optimize our web performance significantly, which was especially important for us because of the growth and success we are experiencing," said Arjen Schat, co-founder of the The Next Web. "We feel we've developed a smart relationship with a company that provides CDN services that are reliable and efficient."
"I and most of our team are huge fans of The Next Web and very excited to have them on our network," said David Henzel, NetDNA's vice president of marketing. "It has been a real pleasure to work with The Next Web and we are pleased to be the CDN of choice to accelerate TNW for its millions of viewers."
MaxCDN is a brand of NetDNA, the tier-1 global content delivery network. After seeing the exponential increase in performance and traffic to its site, The Next Web has chosen to upgrade to MaxCDN's parent company and enterprise solution, NetDNA. TNW now resides on the NetDNA enterprise global network.
MaxCDN is a full-service CDN for worldwide web delivery, and is also available with the optional SSL solution, an easy-to-use secure sockets layer implementation and certificate management service. This SSL solution allows users to instantly purchase and implement a certificate within minutes from their MaxCDN management center.
