National Advocacy Organization for Addiction Treatment Elects Pavillon's CEO to its Board of Directors

MILL SPRING, N.C., June 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers, (NAATP) has elected Anne Vance of Pavillon Treatment Center in North Carolina to its board of directors.

Ms. Vance is CEO of the 80-bed not-for-profit residential and outpatient center in Western North Carolina, about 45 minutes from Asheville. She represents one of few women elected to the 20-member board.

Pavillon is a nationally recognized addiction treatment and recovery center, having successfully treated hundreds of individuals and families from around the nation and overseas since 1996.

Board members are elected by a team of peers and fellow members, representing over 830 individuals from around the nation. All officers serve a three-year term.

"Since it is often the administrator or CEO who creates and sustains the vision of a treatment center, it is significant that Anne has achieved this deserved honor. She will continue to effectively represent Pavillon and the addiction treatment industry as well as she has for many years," said Bob Hayes, Jr., board chairman for Pavillon.

Ms. Vance's career in the treatment field began at the Betty Ford Center and culminated with her being the Director of Administration. Subsequently she became an international consultant working in India, Japan, England, Sweden, Switzerland, Mexico and Russia. In 1995, Ms. Vance helped create Crossroads Centre in Antigua and then became the CEO/President. She has been CEO with Pavillon since 2003 and is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives and is an advanced member of the College of Addiction Treatment Administrators. She has authored numerous white papers and articles and appeared on national and international television and radio programs as a strong advocate for access to care, long-term recovery and eliminating the cultural stigmas associated with addiction. Ms. Vance is committed to helping establish education and prevention programs. She was instrumental in bringing the Children's Program to Pavillon. In the last two years, she has overseen the expansion of the center to include a new admissions center and a renovated treatment area with a dedicated detoxification unit.

Founded in 1978, NAATP is a trade association representing over 500 providers of addiction treatment. Its mission is to provide leadership, advocacy, training and other member support services to assure the continued availability and highest quality of addiction treatment.
