Trinity Broadcasting Network Launches Faith Channels at Folsom Prison

LOS ANGELES, June 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --Christian television is poised to change hearts and lives at one of California's oldest and most notorious correctional facilities. Trinity Broadcasting Network, the world's largest religious broadcaster, announced that several of its most popular faith and inspirational channels have launched at Folsom Prison through its TBN Second Chance program.

Mark Reynolds, national director for TBN Second Chance, explained that following several months of planning and coordination with officials at Folsom and the California Department of Corrections, Folsom Prison's nearly 3,000 inmates now have access to TBN's four top faith networks: TBN's flagship channel; JCTV network for teens and young adults; the Church Channel, featuring America's best worship services and ministry programs; and Enlace, TBN's exclusive Spanish-language Christian network.

"The installation and launch of these 24-hour networks by TBN Second Chance is an important step in planting seeds of hope and healing in the lives of these men at Folsom," said Reynolds. "Through the help and prayer of our many partners, along with the planning and mutual agreement of the state's correctional officials, we look forward to many lives changed because of TBN's presence at Folsom."

Reynolds noted that TBN Second Chance is working closely with state prison officials to facilitate the launch of TBN's networks throughout the remainder California's correctional system. "We anticipate that in the coming months the majority of California's facilities will have access to Christian television through TBN Second Chance," he said. "We are excited to witness the lives and destinies that will be transformed through this strategic partnership."

For the past several years TBN Second Chance has worked closely with correctional officials and cable and satellite companies like Glorystar Satellite Systems to bring life-changing Christian television to prison facilities in California, Florida, Ohio, Louisiana, Texas, Kentucky, Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Colorado, Mississippi, Alabama, Missouri - 31 states so far. TBN covers the cost of equipment and installation, and inmates are provided with up to four of TBN's most popular networks.

"TBN Second Chance represents what this network has been committed to right from the launch of our first station nearly 40 years ago," said Dr. Paul Crouch, TBN's founder and president. "And that is to spend every moment of every day, and every resource at our disposal, to broadcast the hope of the gospel to the ends of the earth. We thank God for the success he has given TBN and TBN Second Chance."
