SSH Communications Security Gains Momentum Following Universal SSH User Key Manager Launch; Estimates Strong Business Growth for 2012

HELSINKIand WELLESLEY, Mass., July 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SSH Communications Security, known the world over as the inventor of the SSH protocol, today announced significant momentum following the launch of its Universal SSH Key Manager product. In its recent stock exchange release, the company estimates significant growth and profitability for FY 2012.

"We are seeing strong demand for our new Universal SSH Key Manager solution," said Matthew McKenna, SSH vice president of sales and marketing. "Based on this positive feedback from our customers, we are continuing to ramp up sales, marketing, R&D and support operations worldwide."

Earlier this year, SSH announced the launch of its Universal SSH Key Manager solution, the first component of its SSH information assurance platform. The company plans to announce its next extension to the platform on July 21st at this year's Black Hat USA 2012 conference in Las Vegas, NV.

SSH's existing footprint inside many of the world's largest companies and its ability to add new value to both complex commercial management processes as well as OpenSSH environments has accelerated the impact of its new product launches. The company is aiming to fill as many as 15 new positions before the end of the year in its Helsinki, Boston, San Francisco and Hong Kong offices, including engineers to run its onsite SSH Managed Security Program.

"SSH ships with every version of Linux and Unix, and the use of SSH in Windows environments is growing steadily," said Tatu Ylonen, SSH CEO and inventor of the secure shell protocol. "While secure shell is ubiquitous in modern enterprises, the ability to centrally manage SSH operations has been a growing challenge. Our platform-based solution enables centralized secure shell management that enhances overall security, improves compliance and reduces costs and risk."

Key Facts:

  • The Universal SSH Key Manager platform enables centralized management of secure shell configuration, key discovery, key deployment and removal, host key management, policy enforcement, monitoring, auditing and reporting in both commercial and OpenSSH environments.
  • The next extension of the platform will significantly harden secure shell deployments against current and emerging threat vectors, including insider threats, data loss and advanced persistent threats.
