SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --WXYZ-TV announced today that Director of Sales Mike Murri has been named Channel 7's Station Manager. In his new role, Murri will oversee day-to-day operations of WXYZ, the Scripps Broadcasting-owned ABC affiliate in Detroit.

Murri is a twenty-nine year veteran of the station. He began his career with WXYZ as an Account Executive in 1983 and became Local Sales Manager in 1996. He was named Director of Sales in 2001.
Murri is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. He currently serves on the Sales Advisory Board for ABC.

Murri lives in Rochester Hills with his wife Mary. He has three children: Lauren, Katie and Michael.
