IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Guard A Heart Foundation, a non-profit organization, raising awareness for cardiovascular disease by educating individuals about the dangers of vulnerable plaque, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Bahar Sedarati as its Scientific Spokesperson and Ambassador.
Dr. Sedarati's responsibilities will include supporting Guard A Heart through peer to peer speaking engagements and contributing her expertise through education and community programs.

In addition to her new role at Guard A Heart, Dr. Sedarati is an Internal Medicine Board certified, graduate of the Yale University-affiliated St. Mary's Hospital in Connecticut. She is the founder and medical director of Bahar Medical Group & Cosmetics and a medical editor and contributor to several best-selling medical review series. Her international experience includes several years as a Medical School Faculty member teaching Pathology, Genetics and Embryology in Middle East and at off shore American medical schools in Central America. Dr. Sedarati volunteers her time and services to organizations such as the Persian-American Cancer Institute, UCI Annual Fashion for Lupus and Other Autoimmune Diseases for Autoimmunity Awareness Association and the Life Is Beautiful Charity.
