JetBlue Names Michael Carbone Vice President, Associate General Counsel

NEW YORK, Sept. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq: JBLU) today announced the promotion of Michael Carbone to the position of Vice President, Associate General Counsel.Mr. Carbone will oversee JetBlue's employment, litigation and regulatory matters. He will continue to report to the airline's Executive Vice President, General Counsel James G. Hnat.

Mr. Carbone previously served as JetBlue's Director, Litigation and Regulatory affairs. In that capacity he was responsible for handling both insured and uninsured matters including major property loss, personal injury and employment matters.He is also routinely involved in numerous regulatory matters which have involved working with such agencies as the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration and the Transportation Security Administration.

Prior to joining JetBlue, Mr. Carbone engaged in private practice at the New York City law firm of Gordon & Silber, PC, where he represented private and public health care institutions and several large manufacturers against malpractice and product liability claims. In that capacity, he acted as primary counsel in numerous state and federal matters as well as in mediations and arbitrations.Mr. Carbone obtained a J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. He resides in New York City with his wife, Karen and three children.
