Webster University Names James A. Myers Director of Financial Aid

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Webster University Senior Vice President and Provost Dr. Julian Z. Schuster today announced the appointment of James A. Myers to the position of Director of Financial Aid. Myers, who will join Webster on Sept. 10, currently serves as Director, Office of Financial Aid at McKendree University in Lebanon, Ill.

At Webster, Myers will be responsible for the administration of all student financial aid programs and for maintaining accountability for all funds in accordance with federal, state and University regulations. He will direct the processing of all financial aid applications at Webster's home campus and other site locations, and oversee the advising and counseling of all students regarding availability of financial aid resources. Myers will report to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management.

"James Myers brings to this position nearly two decades of increasingly responsible experience, including 15 years in higher education financial aid," Provost Schuster said. "We are confident that James will be an immediate asset to Webster University, and that he will build a strong team and mobilize staff around important goals as the University continues on its path of achieving global academic and operational excellence."

As Director, Office of Financial Aid at McKendree University, a position he has held since 2006, Myers led the day-to-day operation of the University's financial aid programs at its home campus in Lebanon, Ill., as well as its site locations at Scott Air Force Base and in Kentucky. Prior to joining McKendree, Myers was Director, Midwest of Sallie Mae, Inc. in St. Louis, where he led the marketing of graduate and professional student loan programs in Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. He also served as Assistant Director of Student Business Services for Chapman University in Orange, Calif., and as Financial Aid Counselor at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz.

Myers holds an MBA degree from Southeast Missouri State University and an undergraduate degree in business from Western Illinois University. He is active in the National, Midwest, Illinois and Kentucky Associations of Student Financial Aid Administrators, and in the National Association of College and University Business Officers.
