Nacianceno M. Pacalioga, Jr. - known as Mayor Jun - is the laureate of the OWA 2012. Deeply moved he accepted the 25,000 Euro prize check that was donated by Rapunzel Naturkost. The OWA jury recognized his visionary commitment and his impressive achievements in promoting organic agriculture and the sustainable, rural development of the municipality of Dumingag and its associated 44 villages. "As mayor he is a perfect example of good governance in practice," said Vandana Shiva, Right Livelihood Award winner from India. Nacianceno M. Pacalioga, Jr. thanked the jury and expressed his hope that this international award will not only be inspiration and motivation for his citizens and himself, but that the experience and achievements of his projects will also attract the attention of more people in the Philippines and around the world.
