Official Board Markets merging into RISI's PPI Pulp & Paper Week

BOSTON, Oct. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --RISI, the leading information provider for the global forest products industry, today announced that it has incorporated the publication Official Board Markets (OBM) into its sister publication, PPI Pulp & Paper Week (PPW). As the premier news and price reporting service for the North American pulp and paper industry, PPW will leverage the addition of OBM resources and content to improve the accuracy of recovered paper price reporting and expand its coverage of the paperboard market.

"PPW has been providing intelligence on the paperboard and recovered paper markets for more than 30 years. RISI already has the paper industry's largest team of professional journalists. By combining resources with OBM, we gain access to even more industry contacts. The end result will be news and price coverage that is even more accurate and insightful," said Todd Petracek, Vice President of RISI's News, Markets and Prices division.

Since its acquisition of OBM in early May, RISI has been engaged in a dialogue with industry players to determine how to better meet the market's needs without sacrificing elements of the service OBM customers have come to depend on.

"We were pleased that so many industry leaders were willing to work with us on developing our plan. The open dialogue we established will ensure that this transition goes smoothly. It also sets us up for future conversations to continue to improve PPI Pulp & Paper Week," added Petracek.

PPW is published weekly and is available as an online subscription.
