UnboundID Unveils Program to Help Companies Identify Potential Identity Infrastructure Problems, Prevent Future Outages
UnboundID, a leading platform provider for identity services, todayannounced the "UnboundID Challenge," a program designed to help service providers, telecommunications companies, and enterprises avoid embarrassing outages like those suffered by European telcos in July. More than 50 million subscribers were impacted by the outages, which touched off government infrastructure concerns in several countries.
Announced at Broadband World Forumin Amsterdam, the UnboundID Challenge program is immediately available to companies that wish to proactively identify potential software problems and future-proof their identity data infrastructure. In this challenge, UnboundID will look at a company's infrastructure from three angles:
- Is current software/database infrastructure provider cost-effective and meeting your ROI/TCO objectives?
- Is the infrastructure reliable, preventing damage to the company's brand?
- Does the infrastructure enable revenue generation from new applications and services?
"With the ever-increasing number of data-hungry customers and their devices, large telcos and other service providers are struggling to keep key consumer services up and running," said UnboundID CEO Steve Shoaff. "In this business, failure is not an option; however, we recognize that these failures could become more common. Organisations need to be sure they can avoid similar issues, while protecting their brand and generating more revenue from existing and new customers."
The UnboundID Challenge enables companies to determine new ways to future-proof identity data systems, scale to meet accelerating demand for data and generate new revenue from securely sharing identity data in open environments. UnboundID will analyse a company's identity data systems as part of the challenge and is prepared to co-exist with or ultimately replace existing legacy directory service infrastructures from Oracle, IBM, CA, or large network equipment providers.
"Subscriber software upgrades happen frequently, but legacy systems can be prone to failure. The outages in Europe occurred as a result of recent software upgrades," Shoaff said. "Telcos need to be able to scale to meet immediate and future demands for data, and ensure their infrastructure against future failure. When they're prepared for that scale, they open up entire new ecosystems based on subscriber identity data, fuelling the Identity Economy."
UnboundID is the leading platform for securing subscriber data and supporting identity services, providing companies with the ability to:
- Dynamically manage and protect hundreds of millions of subscriber identities in real-time
- Securely share and manage identity information in open environments
- Unify identity data for visibility into subscriber value and preferences
- Maximize average revenue per user by understanding subscriber identity data
