WHAT: | Members of the media are invited to cover the fifth annual Great Park Pumpkin Harvest, the fall family festival that is expected to attract 12,000 visitors from across Southern California. Visual Event Highlights: - Thousands of children in costume - Kids picking pumpkins from the Great Park Pumpkin Patch - Master pumpkin carver teaching secrets of creating a festive jack-o-lantern - Train rides to the petting zoo - Children collecting goodies in Trick-or-Treat Town - Monster Mash Puppet Show - Carnival-style games, a cake walk, a hay maze, pumpkin decorating, arts and crafts, gardening crafts - Scarecrow contest with 27 competing scarecrows built by local schools and area businesses to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank and Great Park education programs | |
EVENT DETAILS: | The Pumpkin Harvest is the Great Park's fall signature family event and is expected to draw 12,000 visitors. This family fun event kicks off a month-long Great Park Food Drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Band and Orange County Food Bank to help families in need throughout Orange County during the holiday season. Visitors are encouraged to bring canned or non-perishable food items to the Great Park Pumpkin Harvest or whenever they visit the Great Park now through November 18. Collection bins will be located at the Sunday Farmers Market and the Great Park Visitors Center. Admission is free and parking is $10. | |
