Tax Analysts Contributing Editor Positioned Among Top Global Tax Influencers

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Tax Analysts announced today that Contributing Editor Lee Sheppard has been recognized as one of the top global tax influencers in International Tax Review's The Global Tax 50. The report highlights individuals and organizations, excluding private practitioners, who have influenced tax practice and administration in the past 12 months. The publication launched this annual compilation in 2011 to celebrate those who have been working to shape important decisions in the tax industry.

According to the report: "Sheppard is firmly in the camp that believes international corporate tax rules are out of date and need to be brought in line with the way business is conducted now, especially in light of new technologies, which allow companies to conduct business electronically." The report also highlights Sheppard's stance against the arm's-length principle in transfer trading, which states that the amount charged by one related party to another for a given product must be the same as if the parties were not related.

Sheppard, a lawyer, has been a Tax Analysts contributor for over 20 years and covers all areas of tax law - including international taxation, corporate taxation, partnership taxation, bankruptcy tax, pensions, and tax accounting. She is well-known for having witty and unique observations in her writings, and often speaks on tax topics for the media and at conferences.
