Quintiq Meets Demand for Mine-to-Port Solution with GEOVIA

PERTH, Australia, February 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

Quintiq, a global leader in supply chain planning and optimization (SCP&O) software, today announced the launch of a joint solution serving the Australian mining industry from mine to port in collaboration with Dassault Systemes GEOVIA, Inc. (GEOVIA).

Quintiq's mining supply chain and optimization suite can now be integrated with a number of GEOVIA's mining planning software products, meeting the mining industry's demand for a complete mine-to-port solution which will improve productivity and reduce costs. The new Quintiq-GEOVIA solution provides unparalleled visibility and integration from production, planning, and operational performance at the mine, all the way through to stockpile and port management, preparation plant management, and the movement of goods via rail, port, and shipping.

"Many mining companies tend to plan in silos, and as such, there is a disconnect between mine and logistics operations. Providing visibility across the entire operation from the mine to the port is what miners are demanding. The Quintiq and GEOVIA joint solution will provide unparalleled shared visibility and optimization opportunities. It ensures long term, short term, and scheduling decisions made by mining operations are aligned with decisions made by their logistics colleagues," said Paul Shepherd, Director of Quintiq Australia and New Zealand.

Andrew Pyne, Senior Vice President, Dassault Systemes GEOVIA Inc., said, "Visibility through the bulk commodity supply chain from the customer back to the orebody itself will provide valuable information to mining companies and allow them to react to the variability that occurs throughout. GEOVIA and Quintiq have been collaborating in Australia on a solution for some time now. Both companies, being experts in their domains, bring industry-specific knowledge together, creating the technology solution to achieve this vision."

Quintiq and GEOVIA's collaboration will be announced at the Pit-to-Port Mine Logistics Optimization Conference, February 25-26, 2013, at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Perth, Australia.
