Washington Trust Bank Announces Three New Board Members

SPOKANE, Wash., Feb. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Washington Trust Bank is pleased to announce three new board members joining the bank's Board of Directors. Christopher Ackerley and Jeff Wright both of Seattle, WA, and Dennis Murphy of Walla Walla, WA were appointed to the Washington Trust Bank Board of Directors at the December 17, 2012 meeting.

Christopher Ackerley is a co-founder and Managing Director of Ackerley Partners, LLC, a private investment company focused on the media and entertainment sectors. Prior to founding Ackerley Partners in 2002, Chris was the President of The Ackerley Group, Inc., where he oversaw the daily operations of the national media and entertainment company. He served in a variety of roles for the company for more than 15 years; and was also a member of the company's board of directors. Mr. Ackerley successfully led the merger of The Ackerley Group, Inc. with Clear Channel Communications, Inc. and led the negotiations and completion of The Ackerley Group's sale of the Seattle SuperSonics and the Seattle Storm to The Basketball Club of Seattle. Mr. Ackerley currently serves on the boards of several companies including Plum TV, Inc., Sparq.me and Limeade, Inc. Additionally, Mr. Ackerley serves on the National Board of Advisors for the Eller College of Management at The University of Arizona. Chris continues to serve on the boards of several civic and community organizations including the Pacific Science Center, Lakeside School, The Film School, and as a Director on the Management Board for the Seattle Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences. He also serves as a Vice President of The Ginger and Barry Ackerley Foundation.

Jeff Wright has been the Chairman of the Space Needle Corporation since 1999 and is also the managing partner of the Chihuly Garden and Glass which opened in May, 2012. Prior to his current position, Mr. Wright owned and operated development and building companies including J. Wright Development Company, Parkwood Homes and Cambria Homes. Mr. Wright has served on several boards including the Century 21 Committee, Overlake Hospital Foundation Board, and board member of the 10-99 Foundation. Currently he serves on boards for the Visitors and Convention Bureau and the Board of Trustees of Seattle University.

Dennis Murphy is the President of Hayden Homes and has over 20 years of experience in construction, engineering and development. Mr. Murphy also owns and operates other businesses including a winery, Caprio Cellars in Walla Walla, Washington. Mr. Murphy is active in many professional and charitable organizations including the American Society of Civil Engineers, Big Brothers, Big Sisters and "First Story," a nonprofit organization founded by Hayden Homes that provides grants and houses for families in need.
