Toyota's Corolla Furia Concept Vehicle Coming To 2013 Twin Cities Auto Show

MINNEAPOLIS, March 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Toyota will be bringing an array of exciting new production vehicles and a highly-publicized concept vehicle to the upcoming Twin Cities Auto Show. Scion, the youth brand of Toyota, will also host a nine-day ride and drive program.

This year, Toyota's exhibit will consist of 34 vehicles, such as the 2013 editions of the all-new RAV4 and Avalon - a sedan that's designed, engineered and manufactured in the U.S. Among the headliners at the exhibit will be the Corolla Furia Concept vehicle. This exciting new sedan concept made its world debut at the North American International Auto Show in January, providing the media and public with a view of Toyota's potential design direction for the world's all-time, best-selling automobile. During its history, the Toyota Corolla has sold more than 40 million cars worldwide, with nine million sold in the U.S. since 1968.

Also appearing in Minneapolis will be a replica of the stock Toyota Tundra CrewMax which successfully helped transport the retired space shuttle Endeavour to its new home at the California Science Center last October. That pickup truck marveled the world when it towed the nearly 300,000-pound Endeavour and its custom-built dolly across a bridge spanning the 405 Freeway in southern California. Another special Tundra - a Minnesota Wild-emblazoned pickup - will also be on display. This vehicle highlights Toyota's partnership with the NHL franchise, as its official vehicle.

Toyota's environmentally-friendly hybrid vehicles will also take center stage in the auto show's "Green Room," located in the convention center's main hall. The Prius liftback, Camry Hybrid and new Avalon Hybrid will be present in this special display.

During the course of the entire show, March 9-17, the Scion Live Drive ride and drive program will allow participants to test drive the hottest models from Scion, including the award-winning Scion FR-S sports car. Other models from the Scion lineup will also be on hand, including the sporty Scion tC and the Scion iQ premium microcar, the world's smallest 4-seater. Guests will be able to take the Scion of their choice on a public road test drive (10-15 minutes in duration) accompanied by a Scion Live Drive product specialist.

While supplies last, drivers will also receive a sleek Scion messenger-style, eco-bag just for participating. While the test drive is free, admission into the Twin Cities Auto Show is required to access the Scion ride and drive area. Drivers need only a valid U.S. driver's license and be at least 21 years of age to participate in the free test drive opportunity. Passengers must be at least 8 years of age and accompanied by a legal guardian.

The Scion Live Drive will operate during the following dates and times: Saturday, March 9, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, March 10, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Monday, March 11, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Tuesday, March 12, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Wednesday, March 13, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday, March 14, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, March 15, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, March 16, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, March 17, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
