MIAMI, April 15, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Miami's St. Thomas University (www.stu.edu) has announced the expansion of its Center for Ethics, located in the Kennedy Building of its Biscayne College of Arts, Humanities and Social Studies, Room 220. The center - chaired by Dr. Arthur W. Kane - is presently reaching out to the non-profit community, hosting a conference that promises thought-provoking discussions from public service and charity leaders. University Provost Dr. Gregory Chan recently appointed attorney Robert Meyers, JD, MPA, as the Center's new Executive Director.

The South Florida business, public service, legal and non-profit community is invited to attend the conference on "Ethical Issues in Non-profit Agencies," Friday, April 26th from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. To be held on the St. Thomas University campus, 16401 NW 37 Avenue in Miami Gardens, it will consist of three featured panels on the following topics: Ethical Aspects of Fundraising and Donor Relations; Avoiding Conflicts of Interest for Board Members and Staff; and Equitable Distribution of Resources: Overhead vs. Programming. Among the invited panelists and speakers are: Modesto Abety-Gutierrez, President/CEO, The Childrens' Trust; Angel Aloma, Executive Director, Food for the Poor; Daniella Levine, President/CEO, Catalyst Miami; Professor Ronald Nyhan, Florida Atlantic University; and Javier Soto, President/CEO, Miami Foundation.
The registration fee of $50 covers breakfast and lunch and four hours of stimulating panels with expert speakers.
