BeanTree Learning's 5th Annual Love of Literacy Campaign Results in Significant Donation to Loudoun and Fairfax Child Find

LEESBURG, Va., June 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Hundreds of children and their families eagerly flocked to BeanTree Learning's annual family picnic at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg in May for family festivities and to make a difference. Each year, students from BeanTree Learning donate hundreds of children's books to benefit programs and students in need throughout the Loudoun and Fairfax county areas. This year, the collection featured everything from new board books, Dr. Seuss, to emerging reader chapter books to support Child Find in Loudoun and Fairfax Counties.

More than 400 books were donated at this year's Love of Literacy Campaign, a collection eagerly accepted by Child Find. "The generous donations made by BeanTree Learning families is just magnificent....Whether we receive one book or dozens of books, the need is so great in our area and every book is a gift to the thousands of children we serve each year," explained Ann Mulhall, Loudoun County Child Find Coordinator.

"The Love of Literacy campaign promotes BeanTree's goal of early literacy in children. Reading is fundamental to academic success and we are proud to make a difference at Child Find where they offer so many worthwhile services to children throughout our communities," said Jennifer Bower, owner and founder of BeanTree.

Denise Forest, Coordinator of Fairfax County Child Find said the books will greatly enhance the program's service offerings. "Our Child Find staff members work with thousands of children each year with educational assessments and the Love of Literacy campaign will make a significant impact on our program long-term," said Forest.

Since launching "Love of Literacy," BeanTree Learning families have provided nearly 3,000 books to worthwhile organizations throughout Northern Virginia, including the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia, and the Loudoun Literacy Council.
