The Garden City Group, Inc. Announces Upcoming Deadlines in the Indian Trust Settlement

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., June 27, 2013 /PR Newswire/ -- The following statement is being issued by The Garden City Group, Inc. ("GCG") regarding the Indian Trust Settlement.

On May 1, 2013, GCG, the Claims Administrator for the Cobell v. Salazar Settlement, mailed a letter to each person who filed a timely claim to participate as a member of the Trust Administration Class of the Settlement. Each letter indicated whether the person had been determined eligible to participate in the Settlement for the Trust Administration Class. For each individual not yet determined to be eligible, the letter identified documents that the person needed to provide to the Claims Administrator to support his or her claim to participate in the Trust Administration Class of the Settlement. There is a July 1, 2013, postmark deadline to provide this documentation to the Claims Administrator.

Some individuals received letters from the Claims Administrator because they are heirs to a member of the Trust Administration Class who is deceased. They were asked to provide documentation to show the designation of a personal representative or executor of the deceased Class Member or to provide a probate order which identifies the heirs of the deceased Class Member. Those who are heirs to an already established Class Member who is deceased do not have to provide documentation of a personal representative or executor or a probate order by the July 1, 2013 postmark deadline. If you have questions on a claim filed or the status of a deceased Class Member, you should contact the Claims Administrator at 1-800-961-6109.
