Record-Breaking AmCham South China Delegation Returns for More Unprecedented Success at CIFIT

XIAMEN, China, Sept. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --The award-winning American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AmCham South China) delegation to the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT)today arrived in Xiamen to begin its tireless pursuit of investment opportunities at the famous event. This year shattering all previous attendance records with more than 300 multinational executives in tow, the delegation is scheduled to participate in the "U.S.-China Enterprises Investment Cooperation Forum on Energy and Green Innovation" and meet with provincial-level leaders from Fujian; Sichuan; Hebei and the state-level municipality of Chongqing, in addition to a variety of other activities.

The delegation, now in its 11th consecutive year at CIFIT, is in fact a habitual record-breaker at the fair. In 2006 AmCham South China President Harley Seyedin accepted the "CIFIT Great Contribution" award from Vice Premier Wu Yi on behalf of the chamber; in 2010 the total value of deals signed by delegation members was estimated to exceed $2 billion and in the same year a single company-Air Products-signed 18 separate investment deals over the course of the 72 hours that the delegation was in the historic seaside city. Last year U.S. Ambassador to China Gary Locke jointly led the delegation with Mr. Seyedin and brought with him a group of senior federal government leaders from Washington, D.C.

This year, it expects to make CIFIT history not only by being the largest, with 300 executives, delegation to ever attend in addition to being the co-organizer of the 700-square-meter U.S. Pavilion on the show floor, which is the largest single pavilion both in terms of floor area as well as the number of participating enterprises.

The delegation's successes in 2013 will be celebrated at AmCham South China's Annual CIFIT Cocktail, scheduled this year for the evening of September 8 at the luxurious Westin Xiamen Hotel.
